What is the uterine septum, or intrauterine septum?
Does it prevent pregnancy or lead to miscarriages?
"The intrauterine septum or uterine septum is a structural abnormality that arises during the development of the uterus. The impact can vary depending on the length of the septum and how much it narrows the internal volume of the uterus. If the septum or intrauterine curtain is 1 cm or less, it may not pose a problem for the patient. However, the presence of a deep septum that significantly narrows the uterine capacity can negatively affect the formation of pregnancy or lead to miscarriages. Sometimes, despite the septum, a normal course of pregnancy can be observed depending on the flexibility of the patient's uterine capacity."
"What is an Endometrial Polyp?"
"Endometrial or cervical polyp is a tissue mass, varying in size, that protrudes from the surface of the endometrium into the uterine cavity or beyond. In treatment, hysteroscopy is the most commonly performed and successful procedure. A millimeter-sized camera is inserted into the uterus, allowing the polyp to be visualized and removed with microscissors or a cutter. Polyp surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis and do not require hospitalization."

Intrauterine Adhesions
intrauterine adhesions
-
It can sometimes be seen after infections, surgeries, intrauterine interventions and miscarriages, depending on the patient's individual factors and wound healing processes. In medical terms, they are called Asherman syndrome.
-
They can be seen in different degrees in patients depending on the degree to which they affect the internal capacity and volume of the uterus. They may cause complaints such as decreased menstrual bleeding, loss of menstruation, or inability to become pregnant.
Diagnosis
-
ultrasonography
-
HSG (Uterus Film)
-
sonohysterography
-
hysteroscopy
Treatment
-
Hysteroscopic Surgery (used for both diagnosis and treatment)
-
Depending on the severity of the adhesion, more than one surgery session may be required.
Relapse prevention
-
Different treatment options are available
-
Evidence-based medical approaches are essential.
-
When the healthy endometrium inside the uterus is sufficiently formed, menstrual bleeding of patients approaches normal and a suitable uterine bed for pregnancy can be formed.
