We take a uterine film to check whether the tubes are functionally normal. In particular, we need to make sure that the tubes are healthy and open in order to be able to carry out artificial insemination.
Uterine film is also known as HSG by our patients. In the uterine film, especially after preparing the patient under an X-ray device in the gynaecological examination position, sometimes by giving mild anaesthesia, which we call sedation according to the pain threshold of the patient, sometimes without using any anaesthesia method, in outpatient clinic conditions, we will give the radio opaque substances that we will give into the uterine canal and that can be seen under the X-ray device by means of a catheter, after placing our examination tools through the cervix, passing through the cervix and seeing it under mutual scopy with the patient, a procedure we apply in the form of giving medication.
After administering the drug, we first ask the uterus to be filled with the drug. Then, after the drug is filled in the uterus, if there is no obstruction in the tubes, we want to see that the opaque substance we give from the right and left 2 tubes is distributed into the abdomen through the tubes. When the examination is completed at the same time, we can have an idea about the tubes.
