Endometriosis progresses with inflammation in the female life cycle and causes different complaints, especially pain and infertility. It is a chronic disease that can involve organs such as intestines, bladder, urinary tract or rarely other distant organs in the abdomen.
It may present in different clinical forms depending on the tissue and the type of localisation.
Treatment may be medical or surgical depending on individual patient factors.
It can be in the form of #endometrioma (chocolate cyst) in the ovaries or as diffuse foci on the surfaces of the tubes, ovaries and uterus. It can be located as deep infiltrative nodules between the intra-abdominal organs and cause severe pain and intestinal emptying problems.
It may be located in the muscular wall of the uterus in the form of #adenomyosis and may cause pain and intensity of menstrual bleeding.
📌 In deep infiltrative nodular type, it may sometimes lead to excretory problems with intestinal involvement. Therefore, multidisciplinary evaluation and surgery may be required.
📌 Robotic surgery is a current surgical option for minimally invasive and organ-sparing surgeries.
